We Harvested and Roasted Some Corn! Growing Tropical Vegetables in The USA Yes you can grow the corn from Cameroon here in the USA. I planted the seeds around mid April 2021 and harvested in July. It takes about 90 days. My Backyard African Vegetable Garden is about growing indigenous or ancestral African or tropical vegetables in the USA. I have been pushing the zone and growing African vegetables in my backyard in zone 9 for more than 20 years. My mission is encourage everyone to grow atleast one vegetable in their backyard. Growing your own food is something I very strongly believe in. Aside from the obvious benefits of getting to enjoy the freshest, most nutrient dense version of the produce, gardening to me is therapeutic. I don’t know how to explain it, but it just grounds me.
